Natalie Zan Ryan, born in Big Spring, Texas, was an accomplished English professor at Angela State University and an avid traveler, despite being wheelchair-bound from age seventeen. With a Master of Arts in English and numerous accolades, she inspired many through her teaching and writing. Natalie, who passed away at 55, left behind an autobiography, “Gimp, Like Me,” a candid exploration of her life’s challenges and triumphs. Her legacy endures through ASU’s Natalie Zan Ryan Department of English and Modern Languages.
